Venue for Duke of Edinburgh Group Training
For those leaders organising their own training schedules, Dartmoor has suitable terrain for both Bronze and Silver Award Expeditions. YHA Okehampton and YHA Okehampton Bracken Tor are both suitable venues for groups looking to undertake their expedition training. Our staff team have experienced Dartmoor walkers, who can assist group leaders in suggesting areas suitable for overnight expeditions. FAQ
Can I book with a friend?
You can attend with one person that you know but you will need to check with your DofE leader if three or more people attending the same residential know each other. A key part of the residential is meeting new people. Don’t worry, many people attend as individuals and we run ice-breaker sessions at the start, so you get to know the others.
Can I arrive later or be picked up early?
Apologies, we are unable to authorise late drop-off or early pick-up due to the requirements for the DofE residential.
How do I get signed off for completing the residential section?
At the end of the week, our team will submit an online assessors report to eDofE on the DofE residential which will appear on your eDofE profile, usually within 72 hours.
Can I get information about the assessors for the residential section?
You will receive the Assessor’s details in your confirmation email when you book.
What age do I need to be for the residential
Anyone who who is aged between 16 and 25 is eligible.
Any enquiries please direct them to the team at Ian@adventureokehampton.com
