Get wet and enjoy Devon’s wild rivers with our activity of Gorge Scrambling (also known as Canyoning in America). This is an exciting ascent of a Dartmoor river plunging into pools, wading across the river and scrambling up waterfalls. Great for building confidence in the water and for building team skills.

Gorge Scrambling is one of our most popular activities and is suitable for all ages. It is usually combined with Rock Climbing and Cycling for our Meldon Day. On some days it may be possible to book a taster session during our family adventure holidays.

For groups private sessions can be run at any time of year for bookings of 6 or more.

This session is also available as part of our Stag and Hen Parties.

What do I need for this activity

We provide all equipment for this activity, but you will need to bring day sack, tee-shirt and shorts or swimming costume to wear under the wet-suit, towel to dry off afterwards, an extra pair of trainers with strong soles that you don’t mind getting wet (Wellingtons are not suitable).

If doing this activity as part of a day, then please bring lunch (if not provided), drinks and snacks as well a suncream and waterproofs (depending on the day).
